Alexandra Levine, MD, MACP
Chief Medical Officer, City of Hope National Medical Center
Dr. Alexandra M. Levine is the Chief Medical Officer, Melinda & Norman Payson Professor of Medicine, and also Professor of Hematology/Transplantation at the City of Hope National Medical Center.
She is a nationally and internationally recognized authority on the malignancies associated with HIV, as well as on HIV in women. Dr. Levine worked with Dr. Jonas Salk on the development and testing of a therapeutic AIDS vaccine.
Dr. Levine has published more than 325 articles in the peer reviewed medical literature, has edited two books, and has published 65 chapters in various textbooks. As a principal investigator, she has received continuous grant funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) since 1982 for her scientific research work. She serves as a member of the Board of Scientific Counselors of the National Cancer Institute, and has served on the Oncologic Drug Advisory Committee of the FDA.
